Covid-19 – If, for any reason, a change in Covid legislation affects your booking a full refund will be given or you may select an alternative date.

Tours must be paid for in full at the time of booking using the online booking system.

A full refund will be given if cancelled more than 72 hours before the day of travel.

If cancelled within 24 – 72 hours before the day of travel a 25% charge of the booking cost will be retained.

If cancelled with less than 24 hours before the day of travel a 50% charge of the booking cost will be retained.

A full refund will be given or an alternative date offered if a tour has to be cancelled by the tour provider due to unforeseen circumstances such as inclement weather, vehicle breakdown, illness of the driver.

We reserve the right to alter routes and destinations at any time due to traffic or weather conditions although we will do our utmost to overcome the issue. We also reserve the right to change or miss highlighted attractions and points of interest if time spent at other attractions and points of interest have created an insurmountable delay to complete the tour as described. Again, all efforts will be made to avoid this situation.

All trips which show the use of Windermere Ferry may be subject to an alternative route if traffic conditions will add an unacceptable amount of wait time to the tour. This is highly likely during peak summer periods.

If you have specific dietary requirements please advise at the time of booking.

If you have any physical or mental disability which you feel may affect your safety or the safety of other occupants of the vehicle please specify when booking. The driver is trained in assisting those with some physical impairment and the vehicle is fitted with a retractable step. If in doubt please use the Contact Form (Link) to discuss your requirements with us. It may be that we can recommend alternative transportation for you.


Silver: Tour includes up to £30 per person lunch contribution & attraction fees as per the tour description.

Gold: Tour includes up to £40 per person lunch contribution & attraction fees as per the tour description.

Platinum: Tour includes up to £40 per person lunch contribution, £100 per person dinner contribution & attraction fees as per the tour description.

If, for whatever reason, we are unable to fulfil the itinerary in terms of attraction visits you will be recompensed to the value of £15 per person per attraction.

All and any business under taken by Lake District Car Tours (LDCT) shall be transacted solely on the conditions herein set out.

Each condition shall be deemed to be incorporated in and shall be a condition of any agreement between LDCT and the client.

LDCT acceptance of clients order is conditional on the client agreeing to contract subject to these terms and conditions of sale to the exclusion of all others. By placing a booking with LDCT for services the client is presumed to have agreed these terms and conditions of sale without modification. The un-enforceability or invalidity of one or more of these terms and conditions or part thereof shall not affect the enforceability or validity of any term and condition or remainder thereof.

All hires start when the car leaves the operating base and finish when the car returns to the operating base except those hires to or from various airports or those which are the subject of a fixed charge or those where the mileage starts when the hirer first goes in to the car and terminates when he finally leaves the car.

All charges in the amounts specified herein and in the current tariff published by the Company are payable in advance except where a hirer has a credit account or a Credit Card approved by the Company.

When a car is hired for a week or a longer period, whilst every endeavour will be made for the hirer to retain the car and driver during such a period the Company reserves the right to substitute any other car or driver according to the exigencies of the service.

The company accepts no responsibility for any delays howsoever caused.

The driver will drive at reasonable speeds according to his judgement of road conditions and traffic at any particular time.

When a hirer desires to travel to a particular place, the driver will, unless specifically otherwise instructed by the Company travel by the route which is, in his opinion, the best and most convenient for motoring. Whether the route is the shortest or not, and no allowance will be made to the hirer on the ground that the route adopted is not actually the shortest.

A reasonable amount of ordinary passenger luggage is allowed, but luggage which in the opinion of the driver amounts to an excessive weight will not be carried. The Company accepts no responsibility for any loss or damage to any luggage or property carried in or on the car, unless the loss or damage is a result of negligence by the Company.

Every effort will be made to carry out the booking but its due performance is subject to cancellation by us or to such variation that we may find necessary or result of inability to secure drivers, cars or as a result of any act of god, war, strike, lockout or any labour dispute, fire, flood, drought, legislation or other cause beyond our control.

These terms and conditions are governed by English law.
